Brent has been in the health and wellness industry since 1998, and an impassioned educator for nearly 10 years. Developing a presentation style that is clear and engaging he has been focused on optimizing evidence-based, skill-centric, education for all human movement professionals. As a recourse to industry giants from SHAPE magazine Town Sports International, Equinox and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Brent is grateful to affect thousands of lives every year as President and Founder of the Brookbush Institute of Human Movement Science.

Jinny McGivern

Jinny McGivern Writer

Dr. Jinny McGivern comes to the Brookbush Institute as a recent graduate of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Hunter College. In addition to her training as a physical therapist, Jinny brings a diverse background of dance performance, stage management, event planning and yoga teaching to the team at the Brookbush Institute. Jinny has worked as a physical therapist at Central Park Physical Therapy in midtown Manhattan, and is now starting an Orthopedic Residency Program through the Institute of Physical Art at the Long Island University Center for Physical Rehabilitation in Brooklyn, NY.

Nicholas D. Rolnick

Nicholas D. Rolnick Writer

Nick Rolnick aspires to be a world class physical therapist and performance enhancement specialist. He has had an interest in sports and performance from his days as captain of his college baseball team, where he achieved all-conference honors, to his more recent pursuits as men’s physique competitor, stepping on stage multiple times and winning a natural bodybuilding show. Since graduating with an M.S. in Health Promotion Management, Nick realized he can combine his love for fitness with his passion to help others by pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University. Nick has been training since 2011 in various settings, from Equinox, to university gyms to private settings. His passion for excellence led him to the Brookbush Institute where he is an author and contributes to various projects in the pursuit of evidence-based, practical education in human movement science. Nick teaches Kinesiology I and II in the MS Applied Exercise Science Program at Concordia University - Chicago.

Arran McManus

Arran McManus Writer

Arran McManus strives to be a leading educator and specialist in performance enhancement. He arrives at the Brookbush Institute with over seven years experience with elite athletes and professional football teams. He has published several peer-reviewed articles, journals and book chapters within the field of sports performance. His main area of interests include; neurology, respiration, biomechanics and eccentric exercise induced changes in muscle architecture. In addition to his work with the Brookbush Institute, Arran is a lecturer in Strength and Conditioning Sciences within the UK.

Sofia Costa

Sofia Costa Writer

Dr. Sofia Costa has a diverse background, gaining clinical experience at various orthopedic outpatient and sports physical therapy facilities in the Los Angeles area, and having worked as a personal trainer at Equinox in Miami. As of June 2016, Dr. Costa started an independent physical therapy and training practice, focused on providing the unique continuum of care needed by the fitness and athletic populations (recreational and professional). As part of her continuum of care, Dr. Costa teaches educational workshops, is a leader in a mission driven community called Health Made Simple, provides hands on treatment and designs cutting edge exercise programming. Her mission is to provide guidance and solutions for people to reconnect with their body, restore their movement, and help them stay active to improve their performance.

David Boettcher

David Boettcher Live Workshop Presenter

David is the Director of Education and Lead Instructor for the National Personal Training Institute of Houston (NPTI), where he runs a 6 month, hands on, personal training certification program. His passion for fitness and helping others achieve their goals drives Dave to continue to increase his knowledge on all aspects of training and makes him a leader in the industry, working with a wide variety of clients from special population to professional athletes. He currently holds certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Performance Enhancing Specialist (PES), Golf Fitness Specialist (GFS), and Master Trainer. Dave has also worked as a lead trainer and manager for gyms in the Philadelphia and Houston area for the last 10 years. His passion for teaching allows Dave to give back to the training community by providing evidence-based continuing education workshops with the Brookbush Institute of Human Movement Science, health and wellness seminars for corporations, and practical certification workshops within NPTI as a Kettlebell and Suspension instructor.

Josh Saxton

Josh is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist working in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. He started working in the health industry in 2015 prescribing exericse to manage chronic disease. Over the last 18 months Josh has sort to specialise in musculoskeletal rehabiliation focusing on movement patterns and movement quality. His hobbies include Judo, Brizillian Jujitsu and Rugby Union. Julie Randall

Julie Randall Writer

Julie Randall has been practicing as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist for more than 17 years. She obtained her massage therapy license in NYS in 2008. She continued her educational pursuits by obtaining her MBA in 2015. She excels in providing quality, evidence-based, hands on care to all of her clients. She has a passion for treating athletes, especially runners as she is an avid runner herself. She has competed in several events including marathons, triathlons and a two ultramarathons. Her passion for education and continued learning led her to pursue a position with the Brookbush Institute as a writer in the Spring of 2017.

Karl Sterling Live Workshop Presenter

Karl Sterling is an NASM master trainer based in New York. While his extensive experience as a trainer includes working with a variety of populations, he primarily specializes in working with clients who have Parkinson's Disease. Karl travels extensively throughout the United States as an educator in the fitness training and human movement arena. He is the owner of PhysioChains Education which currently offers level 1 and 2 "Parkinson's Regeneration Training" courses nationwide and internationally. In addition, Karl is an instructor for the Brookbush Institute For Human Movement Science mans former Master Instructor for the Evidence Based Fitness Academy.

Cynthia M. Stolpe

Cynthia M. Stolpe Instructional Design and Accreditation

With a master's in Education in Instructional Design and Technology, she specializes in user experience design and incorporating constructivist methods into training for adult learners. She has spent the last five years in the non-profit sector, most recently working for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) in continuing competence. While there, she managed the aPTitude website, including the help desk, policy changes, and any changes to the website and its content. She would like promote the balance between regulation and personal responsibility within the healthcare sector. In her spare time, Cynthia works on research into male/female communication issues within the technology sector, and works on theories involving concentration and engagement for participants of online education.
